It's hard to keep you all up-to-date on where I am. I'm not out every day, and when I do go out I'm not always certain what location our dispatcher will assign me to. Also, I'm not online when I'm on the truck, so I can't always get something posted here on the website. Soon I'll be getting an IPhone, and I'm hoping to get some sort of GPS software that will show a map of my current location. UNTIL THEN: the sure-fire way to know my location is by checking Twitter. You don't have to sign up to see what I post. My name on Twitter is "biggayicecream."
I know, I know... Twitter. Ugh. That was my initial reaction too. I figured it was consisted mostly of Paris Hilton letting us know what color underpants she wouldn't be wearing on a given day. Alas, it's really quite a good tool and it's much less of a time-suck than Facebook. I follow a few food blogs, the A and G trains (I get individual Tweets from each line, to let me know of service interruptions), a few news sources, other food trucks and a few friends. I *always* have my location announced if I'm working.
For the uninitiated, here's a sample of what I see on my Twitter. These "tweets" are from people I'm following:
Very simple. Next, here are the posts that I've sent out on a given day. It's mostly about location or toppings, but occasionally I go off on a random subject. Sorry about that! ;)
Thus ends your Twitter primer. There is a link in this page's right-hand-column that will take you to my Twitter page. Subscribe or dont, but do use it to help you find me. Thanks!
I think it would be really fun to see you on a live feed somehow.
ReplyDeleteoooh, I wish you knew where you were going to be :-( We would love to promote you on our Garment Center fashion blog, www.39thandbroadway.com if we only knew when you were going to be around our neighborhood. I guess this means I'm going to have to actually use Twiitter, damn!
ReplyDeleteBTW the iPhone will change your life!
