The BGICT is in the finals for a really cool award presented by The Street Vendor Project. This coalition helps NYC's street vendors- most of whom are immigrants and could really use a hand- and sponsors an exciting event called The Vendy Awards. The finalists are chosen by write-in nominations and we'll all be involved in a big cook-off at the end of September.
Mark Saturday, September 26th, 2009 from 2pm to 7pm into your calendar and buy a ticket soon because it's expected to sell out. BGICT will be outside the Queens Museum of Art alongside fellow dessert finalists Cupcake Stop and Wafles and Dinges (in addition to all of the "meal" trucks/carts) and we'll be doing our best to (A) impress and (B) have an amazing experience. I hope we're parked with a great view of The Unisphere! The winner of the dessert category is decided by popular opinion, so WE NEED YOU TO COME.
The New York Times, Village Voice, NBC and Huffington Post are some of the major media outlets that have mentioned The Vendy Award dessert finalists. NEAT NEAT NEAT!
