Dang!

Wow- a long day. I trekked from home (Washington Heights) to Greenpoint, where I usually pick up a truck. Once I got there I found out that nothing was available and I was taken wayyyyy up into the Bronx for a truck. Eventually that worked out, but I had forgotten my phone (and thus the GPS that I would need to find my way back to that backwater depot) at home. So... back home, then FINALLY to my spot in Union Square.

I had my doubts about parking, because the street was blocked off as "no parking" for a movie production crew. I braved it, and no one complained. Apparently Robert DeNiro is filming on the next block? He wasn't the only celebrity around; Carol Burnett was signing at Barnes and Noble. I saw neither of them, but I couldn't care. I had a steady onslaught of wonderful customers, both returning and new faces.

The truck was a bit tough. Most of these things are built for people who are no taller than maybe 5'8". I need to hunch the entire day. Ah well, I'll figure it out.

I've got some amazing tickets that I'll be giving away this weekend: Frederica Von Stade's “farewell” concert at Carnegie Hall. Keep watch!

  1. I don't understand. Do you turn any soft serve truck into your BGICT? Who decides what truck you get?
