Media nuttiness

The last two days have seen some of our biggest coverage yet. NPR ran a story on Saturday's Morning Edition, and you can listen here. The New York Daily News has a big story today. You wouldn't been believe the well-wishes we've been getting. Welcome, everyone!

Make sure that you notice how many comments are getting deleted on the NPR site. I wonder if it's just one troll reposting something?

Check 'em out! I'll see you out on the street tomorrow.

  1. Congrats! Now if we could get the Mister Softee truck here in Dallas to become a BGICT, I'd be happy! http://tinyurl.com/psckvc I'm hoping I can figure out a way to get to NYC this weekend while I'm up in CT for a big gay wedding!

  2. Hey there Doug. I really got a kick out of the piece on NPR -- nice bit of promo for you.

So is the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck kind of acting like a guy magnet or what?

Because a guy like you with a cute goatee and smile, an ice cream truck, and who plays bassoon... I'm just sayin'! If I lived in New York I'd be eating three ice creams a day. (wink)

Good luck and enjoy the rest of the summer.

  3. I just read your article on NPR.org, and I was thrilled to find out that you are a fellow bassoonist!!! I wish I lived in NYC so we could play duets and sell ice cream together. :D

  4. I'm sending my friends to you! I'm so happy for you and your creativity & success. You make me miss my former NYC, hot summer days...I could've used one of your ice cream cones between class & rehearsals with my ballet companies. Keep on Truckin'! - Kirsten Long

  6. Well thanks, everyone!

Joe- it's not as much of a guy magnet as I wish it was! It *is* a good vantage point for butt-watching, though.
